    Great authentic chinese/cantonese food.

Affordable prices! Great for a family dinner.

I usually come with my dad on the weekdays. Everything is delicious.

Peking Duck: 7/10: I've been here twice (within 2 years) as I was visiting Houston and I think their duck flavor has surprisingly disappeared. The presentation and portion size is as amazing as ever and if you eat Peking Duck with a lot of green onions and the sauce, you won't even notice, but I like eating the meat and skin on its own (as the bao is too filling) and I found that there is no natural duck juice/rich flavor that comes with a fresh duck. Disappointed.

My favorite part of this place is the soup and the stir fried duck parts. This part (and the price of the whole dish) deserves a 9/10.

Everything else that I have ordered (including duck feet pot and curry niu nan/beef tendon pot): has a weird aftertaste and odd off flavor that I couldn't quite grasp. Not a fan, but my family enjoyed them so I won't rate as it's not fair if it's just my taste buds.

I was told this was one of the oldest Cantonese restaurants in Houston.
Very authentic, old school style type dishes.

    Dishes I order often:
    -Scrambled egg with shrimp.
-fried shrimp with salt and pepper.
    -beef tender hot pot.
-fried bean curd with salt and pepper.
    -steamed fish.
    -deep fried oysters.
    -chicken with ginger and Scallion.
-fried port chops with pepper and salt.
    -shrimp with honey walnuts.
-salted fish with chicken hot pot.
-beef ribs served in sizzling plate.
    -sauteed eggplant with garlic sauce.
-black pepper beef on sizzling plate.

Basically seafood, hotpots, and anything sizzling is really good.

Just thought to be fair. I've been here more often because I found Yuen Ten Restaurant got better tasting charsiu 叉烧肉 aka Chinese BBQ pork. They made them fresh along with roast duck, roast chicken and assorted grilled meat I normally see at Chinese supermarkets.

Since my bad experience from 2 years ago, I decided to try their take out option. Only once in a blue moon they offer a chair for me to sit while I wait. Very rarely, they bring me a cup of tea. Maybe because they look at how much I spent. But it didn't bother me. I just want to make my hungry family happy.

Oh. There's no chair by the atrium or around the doors. It's okay. I'll stand.

After learning Yuen Ten being the oldest Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown, I want to come back to try some real food next year with my friends.

Prompt service.  Not too crowded.  I read the BBQ pork is the best in town because of its unique taste.  It's definitely has its own style.  It has a slight wine taste to it.  It's a lot better in taste than the other restaurants in Chinatown.  Also, the pork meat is very lean and tender.  You will get a good portion for the price that you pay especially if you get the rice dish.  I might go back to try the other meats.
